It's that time of the year again. Darty SZN!! It's arguably the best time of the school year. It's where you can be drunk at noon with all your friends because all of you started drinking at 9 a.m. and no one cares because everyone else is the same way. Nothing gets you through the school week like the anticipation of a darty that's being thrown a nice warm Saturday. Darty SZN is here and I'm pumped for another crazy season.

1. The shower beer

This is a classic. I swear beer tastes better when you're drinking it in the shower as you wake up. Maybe you took it easy the night before, so now you and your body know what's coming next...a darty.

2. Packing up the backpack and finishing the last drink at home

There is always a must to bring a backpack filled with alcohol, so you know that you for sure have enough to make it through the whole day. Also, you gotta get in that one last drink before heading out for the day. Maybe that means shotgunning it with friends or beer bonging that one last beer.

3. Arrival

You first arrive and you may see some people you know there already, so you know it will be a good day. The keg will be flowing (if there is one) and loud music will be blasting. There will be drinking games going on. It seems like there is some potential for a great darty.

4. Rager

This is right in the middle where everyone there is having a good time. People are doing keg stands, beer pong has a constant flow of people and there is a one story beer bong that people are using. This is the time of day when there are more people there than everyone thought there would be. People are enjoying life and are really hype.

5. The keg runs out

This is the start of the end for some. The keg finally ran out and lots of people are disappointed, but many people did the smart thing and brought their alcohol in a backpack. So, for some this may be the end, but for most the party goes on with the same type of rage.

6. The drunk munchies

It's about the time where people are running out of alcohol, so about late afternoon. Now people are leaving and slowly the crowd dwindles down. People are getting hungry and want to go get some food somewhere, either out or back at their place. This is usually where the darty ends for most people

7. Nap time

After everyone has some food in them, and are becoming soberer by the minute, many people decide that this is the point where all the dartying finally catches up with them. This is when they crash and take a nap. After all, you gotta rest up for going out at night, so wake up prepared to keep the party going all night too.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
