The feud between makeup mogul Kat Von D and Jeffree Star has boiled over to the point that Kat Von D has made the decision to disassociate herself from they money hungry "racist" makeup artist, Jeffree Star. Star has been under scrutiny for his questionable actions as well as commentary that he has provided via several social media platforms in both the past and present , Kat Von D has done nothing but stand beside her friend in an effort to support him in his endeavors both in and out of the business field. While her presence in his business ventures are what I would consider to be undeniable Star has made countless allegations that his empire was self constructed and Kat Von D has had little to do with his growth in any aspect of his life. Clearly he is in denial and fails to give her credit for the blatant source of inspiration that she has served in his life. Kat Von D on the other hand has not shied away from allotting Star credit, one of her products (now discontinued) bears the namesake of her former friend.
In my opinion this situation is no different than just getting rid of a friendship that may have been toxic to all parties involved. While the public may have little to no information on what interactions have taken place between the two in a closed space it is without question that Kat Von D has always possessed more clout in the makeup industry and her recommendations and clout in the field benefited Jeffree Star in his sales as well as the following that he garnered in the process. This is not one of those situations where Kat Von D has sought to leech off of Jeffree Star for the accomplishments that he has made as a result of her investments in him but instead her efforts to remove herself from what has become an unhealthy situation. The more fame and influence that Star has acquired the more questionable his character has become according to Kat Von D and honestly I don't blame her for wanting to remove herself from a situation like that. Throughout my nineteen years of living I've come across more than my fair share of opportunists who showed no signs of malice or the intent to control me or others while developing our friendship but have since revealed their true colors, in the same way Kat Von D reserves the right to rid herself of any person that she deems to be a source of negativity.
