5 Reasons Why Your Pet Is The Real Reason You Go Home

Saying I love animals would be a gross understatement. My life is not complete without constant videos of furry goodness on my Facebook wall. While leaving home for college was tough, leaving my pet was actually the worst.

Animals bring out the best in us, and while it is scientifically proven, you don't need science to know that anytime you see a fluffy bundle of joy walking around campus, your day gets exponentially better.

Home is amazing -- free food, free laundry, just free everything, but if you're really honest with yourself, you know that your pet is actually the best reason to go home, and here's why:

1. They don't judge your GPA

.

Or your choice in guys, Mcdonald's runs at 4 a.m., or tequila decisions.

2. They love you unconditionally

As long as they can be near you, they're happy. Unlike Brad from English Lit...

3. You always know what you're getting from them

Unlike the Russian Roulette you play every time you eat at EVK...

4. They never get tired of your rants

.

Friends may have to take a break, but your pet will never leave you when you're freaking out about Jen's tone through text for the 50th time.

5. They were your first best friend

And they taught you the kind of love you deserve.

We can all agree that pets are the best, even if we can't agree that pineapple should go on pizza.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
