While we may always be reaching for high shelves, hemming long pants, and standing on our tippy toes...here are some easy fashion tips to make yourself look a little (shhh don't tell anyone) ...taller!

1. It's all about proportions.

Fashion gurus have talked about the rule of thirds for ages, yet some things don't change with the seasons. When wearing separates, the top part of your outfit should be approximately one-third of your total silhouette. Whereas, the bottom part of your outfit should consist of the remaining two-thirds. This creates the illusion of an elongated frame... something us short girls are lacking!

2. Slits are a short girl's best friend.

Wearing skirts or dresses with slits will elongate your legs and trick the naked eye into thinking you're just a tad bit taller. This is a great trick to avoid being "swallowed" by never-ending maxi dresses.

3. Monochromatic color schemes are in and we're here for it.

Open your Instagram and you won't be able to avoid a feed flooded with tie-dye sweatsuits, matching workout attire, or trendy jumpsuits. Finally, a trend that's working in our favor! Wearing the same color top and bottom creates a continuous, cohesive effect that elongates petite frames.

4. High-waisted jeans are all the rave.

This is just a win, win. Not only providing comfort, but high waisted trousers accentuate your waist and make your legs look wayyy longer.

5. Embrace the '70s and bring back flare pants.

Despite their ties to the flower child generation, these pants hold a place in the modern world. Throw on a pair of flare jeans with heels and you're looking taller by the second!

6. The right neckline can do wonders.

Off the shoulder tops and v-necks are very flattering on petite frames. These tops open up the chest area and elongate your neckline, creating the image of a taller torso. Don't be afraid to show some skin!

7. Balance is key.

Everything works in moderation. Throw on a baggy T-shirt and tuck it into a pair of skinny jeans. Or, style a bodysuit with a pair of cargo pants. Either way, make sure to balance baggy and tight clothing properly.

8. Vertical prints, yes!

Be a showstopper and pick a bold pattern! Vertical stripes have a continuous effect giving height to any look.

9. Avoid chunky accessories.

Opt for smaller bags that don't overwhelm your frame. Choose dainty jewelry to give your petite style a light, airy look. And steer clear of wide belts that cover too much torso. Keep it simple, babe!

10. Rock your petite frame in any way you want.

Fashion is a means of expression. Wear what makes you feel like the best version of yourself. If you adore chunky accessories, low-rise jeans, and horizontal stripes...rock it! You look great.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
