5 Pet Peeves Of All Snapchat Users

Hey, you should save the streak.

It is clear that Snapchat is known as one of the ultimate social media networking apps that allow individuals to communicate with one another more conveniently, especially throughout college. However, there are times when our fellow snapchatting peers agitate each other with snapchats, messages or even stories. These are the five pet peeves of Snapchat users.

1. Blank Snapchats

Nothing is more irritating than receiving a Snapchat from someone that you have been having a conversation with, and then they start sending only snapchats that consist of only a picture with no words. No, I do not want to snapchat you only to see a ten-second picture of your room or keep a streak with you to show off to your friends. Actually carry on a conversation or I will simply not respond, it is simple as that.

2. 'Save the Streak'

Individuals who send out snapchats with the words of 'save the streak' or 'who wants to start a streak?' are by far the most irritating. If one's main goal of Snapchat is to simply have ongoing streaks with the majority of their friends, I must ask you this one question; why? If you are planning on having a streak with someone, at least talk to them in the snaps as opposed to only sending a snapchat a day to have your streak increase.

3. Snapchat Chatters

Everyone knows someone that will snapchat you images and then suddenly will transfer to sending messages in the chat and then back to images. But, what makes this far more annoying, is when that same person saves particular messages in the chat to make it seem like something else was said when it really wasn't. I also find it quite annoying when individuals will say something in the chat and then deny it because the message is gone. How childish, right?

4. Everyone Means Everyone

If you receive a snapchat from someone that you barely know or talk to, chances are you have fallen a victim to one of their mass snapchats. This is particularly annoying because most of the time mass snapchats are also put on a users story. I guess that means you could now view someones snapchat twice in one day right? Just don't be that person because it is simply annoying.

5. One Eternity Later...

Out of all of the snapchat pet peeves that exist the most aggravating one according to myself is when someone doesn't open your snapchat when they are clearly snapchatting others. I clearly saw your snapchat score increase 20 points within the past three minutes. Due to this, there are individuals that take hours to reply that seem like eternities. I find myself asking the question, "what is the point of even bothering?" If a person will take hours to reply back to you then you are clearly not worth any of their time, so why bother offering your time back to them?

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
