When everything around you is happening
And they just keep happening,
You have no control over anything, because the future
Was already planned out.
And every day, you have hope.
You are doing a good job in terms of keeping the hope alive.
Then, catastrophe happens, and you question everything.
Why?
Your question is never answered.
You think the worst, because why not.
Pessimism is a side effect.
Why do I have to be so darn happy all the time?
Why can’t I stay quiet for once?
People just want you to talk.
They want you to be like them.
They are not going to help you.
When at least half of your memories consist of people hurting you,
How can you be happy every single minute of the day?
“Sometimes it’s hard” is my response.
Life is hard.
I’m not saying life is all bad.
It’s not!
I guess you can say that life is beautiful in its own messy way.
But remember that people don’t grow up the same way you do.
Some are not as fortunate enough to have the life that you have.
Think about how bad one’s life can be, and multiply that by one-thousand.
I’ll let your imagination wander.
Pessimism is a side-effect.
Kindness and thoughtfulness go a long way in terms of lessening the side effect.
