With everything that is going on recently related to the worldwide attacks, some unique perspectives on world issues have been brought up. After research and reading, I've developed my own thoughts:
Everyone seems to be focusing on Paris. Even Facebook is flooded with the French national colors, but innocent people have been losing their lives due to ISIS before Friday.

There's a reason that people are fleeing countries from the Middle East such as Syria. The civilians of these countries are facing danger from terrorism every day of their lives, yet many people label the victims as terrorists due to their country of origin.
The majority of people in these countries are not terrorists, and people need to stop seeing them as such. There needs to be a distinction between the victims and the terrorists in a country like Syria. It also needs to be understood that Muslims are not terrorists. Islam is generally a very peaceful religion.
Like any other religion, there are extremist groups such as ISIS and al-Qaeda. Even Christianity has had, historically, violent extremist groups such as the KKK or the Westboro Baptist Church. In Germany during WWII, Hitler ordered many innocent civilians to death, and similar things are happening in countries like Syria.
I am in full support of Obama's decision to not send troops in to fight ISIS.
Many people don't truly understand war. I'm not claiming that I do either, but there are many aspects that go into a war.
It's not as simple as 1) Declare a war 2) Stop ISIS. If it were that simple, ISIS would already be stopped.
First, you need to declare who you are going to war against. In this case, the war would be with ISIS, but ISIS is not a country. ISIS is not a location. ISIS is a group of people that are and will be difficult to find. There are areas that are under ISIS control, but targeting these areas will likely cause more innocent deaths and still not end ISIS.
If we are to declare war on Syria, many innocent people will die.
People don't realize that when we went to war with Iraq after 9/11, not only did our own United States soldiers lose their lives, but around 150,000 innocent Iraqi civilians also lost their lives.
Those lives and the lives of innocent people threatened by ISIS in the Middle East should matter just as much as the lives of people in France.
We need to open our minds and our hearts to people suffering all over the globe. We need to pray for the world, not just the west.
