To The Person Who Is There For Me Through It All
Caroline Chun

If you told me that I would be graduating college with someone who makes me feel like my best self, I wouldn't believe you. But here I am, a few days away from graduation, knowing what it feels like to fall in love with my best friend. To the one who has allowed for me to become my best self, this one is for you.

This entire year has been the biggest transition for me, but you have made this transition so much easier for me to handle. You have allowed for me to discover personal strength and courage. You always tell me you believe in me and it truly shows. It shows in the way you smile at me when I'm having a tough day and it shows in all of the things you do for me. Thank you for staying up late with me until I finish that one last paragraph, that one last question, and that one last flashcard for my upcoming exam. You have no idea how loved you are. Not just by me, but from everyone around you.

You have taught me the true meaning of loving someone because you want to, not because you have to. You have taught me that real love never comes with second guessing. Whenever one of us is in need of the other, it doesn't matter where or when, we'll be there. When I was sick, you stuck by me through it all. You never left my side, even when you had an important event the next day. Of course, you got everything done and focused on your studies, but the fact that you focused on me on your busiest days meant the world. With you, I've learned how to prioritize my time and how to not let little things bother me. That bad day I had two days ago feels like ages because you made the next one even better. You surprise me with study snacks, billions of hugs and endless laughter - you're funnier than I say (I can't believe I just admitted that oh no). Everyday, you remind me to never lose sight of what's important in life: my faith, my family and my friends.

You treat each night like a date night, whether it's at the library or at our favorite italian restaurant. No matter where we are, you always give me your undivided attention and love. I love how my friends consider you a close friend. You make them smile and laugh and that makes me so happy. You're the life of the party and you're my personal class clown who I care about so deeply.

As I head into a new chapter, I hope you know that I'll always be here for you. Through both the good and the bad, you will always have me by your side. It's tough because I know that times will get hard, but looking back on our months together, each time there was a tough moment, we came out stronger than before.

February was my toughest month and I was so lucky to have your support. That month I understood the importance of having a few close friends rather than a lot of distant friends. You reminded me to stay positive no matter what came my way and because of you, I've learned how to do just this. I've become stronger, wiser, and happier. Thank you is an understatement.

Your enthusiasm and smile lights up and entire room and I wish you could understand how important you are to so many of us. From the big moments to the small, no time with you is wasted. It wouldn't be safe to say that our relationship doesn't come with disagreements, but even at the end of the day, that is what makes us better. It wouldn't be normal for us to not have arguments. In a weird way, it's what keeps us sane. More importantly, it allows us to become more understanding, not only as a couple, but as individuals.

On the days you feel tired, on the days you feel like giving up and on the days you feel alone, remember that you always have me to cheer you on. You have accomplished so much and I can't wait to see what else is in store for you. Your handwork and passion will forever pay off, I just know it. Yes, words have power.

You deserve the world and so much more. I love you more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
