To The Person Needing Hope For The Future

You are still so young don't be so concerned about things that are completely out of control. Things happen but that's just how this life works, you need to be prepared for the worst so you can maneuver efficiently through life with little stress. You don't necessarily need to have your entire life figured out at this exact moment, there's wiggle room. Always.

Life is constantly throwing you for twist and turns you'll never see. You could plan for something and get a totally different outcome which is why you should always have a plan B no matter what. Having one can give you a positive outlook on the future knowing that you have a backup to deter you from failure. And always having options can help too. If you can always have a choice in most matters it could make you feel more in control of your life.

Look more for positives. Easier said than done right? But if you really look at little positives throughout your day, almost automatically you feel better and won't focus your attention on anything unworthy of it.

You may feel down and out of place now but I can promise it will get better. Yes the future can seem pretty cloudy right now and you don't know what to expect but hey that's part of the experience. You need to feel the low valleys in this life to even get to feel the highest peaks. Whatever is plaguing you will cease eventually, you have to give it time and little thought. Positive mind equals a positive life. It may not get better in the next five minutes or days, but it will. You also have to be willing to stand up and actually give it a fight because laying down and taking it will make not a single thing better. You can do this, I know you can. If you give up now what will that do to all of your hopes and dreams? Go with the method that scares you the most because you'll learn so much from the experience. Have faith in yourself. You've been through a lot to be here and you can do it again because you're strong. You got this.

I promise

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
