Today’s generation is marked by technology.

People are judged by the generation of phone they have. There is an ongoing battle between android and iPhone. We are constantly waiting for the next piece of technology to enter our lives and control it until something new comes along. We talk about new phone updates like it is breaking news.

Although technology has made our lives easier and more efficient, it has also made it so much more complicated.

Technology has given people the ability to hide behind screens and become bullies.

Social media can quickly become a mask as a person publishes their demeaning and hurtful opinions on the internet.

Twitter becomes a platform for drama as people publish 160 character messages about other people without caring what that person might feel.

Instagram allows people to publish pictures of others without permission, and you never know what could pop up on a timeline of you.

Snapchat enables people to takes pictures of whatever and whoever and post it for all of their friends to see. Sure, the pictures disappear, but then again a person can send whatever awful messages to you and it is gone immediately.

Texting allows a person to send horrible and awful messages to a person without having to confront them in person. A person who refuses to confront you in person can hide behind this screen and send gut-wrenching messages.

Without even seeing you, they can make you feel worthless. To the person behind the screen, please grow up and realize you are a coward.

As technology steadily increases control of our lives, more people are becoming victims of cyberbullying as there are more platforms for people to hide behind.

To those being victimized through technology – you are so much better than whatever that person is saying about you.

You are stronger than the demeaning words they have sent you. They are the ones who are too afraid to confront you in person.

You are beautiful. You are a beautiful person because you are you and no one can change that. Do not let anyone tell you who you are. Never feel worthless, because that is the person who feels powerful sending awful messages through technology.

You are unique. You are an individual with personal interests and beliefs, and maybe someone doesn’t agree with that. Maybe that person is attacking you because you are different. What I have to tell you, is that person does not matter. Always be yourself, regardless of other people tearing you down.

It is so much easier said than done. Especially with that person antagonizing you, but no one knows it because it is over technology. Please realize that you are better than that person, that you are stronger than that person. You are beautiful and unique, and a person hiding behind a screen does not determine your worth.

To the person behind the screen – get over yourself. Move on. You are a bully that cannot confront an issue in person. Your words do not define us.

You are weak, but we are so much stronger. Your anonymity does not excuse your animosity.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.
