To The Person Who Doesn't Know

It's OK to not know something, as long as you know you're not alone.

To the person who doesn't know. The person who doesn't know where they are going in life. Who doesn't know what to do. To the person with confusion on top of confusion. This is for you. We've all been there. At that point where you start to question everything you've ever known. One small question turns into another and another and before soon you don't have an answer for anything. You are not alone in this. Remember that.

Things happen. Life happens. Just remember that life also moves on. It doesn't just stop and stay there waiting for you to mess up again. It moves on, leaving you to catch up on your own. And you have to run to catch up.

You don't know how you're gonna make it or how you're supposed to catch up. That's fair, but don't let that hold you back. Don't let those questions hold you up as you struggle through it all. You don't know what you're gonna do, but that doesn't matter. You don't have to know. You just need to breathe and remember you're not alone. Someone, somewhere, just like you is struggling to catch up. Asking if it's even worth it anymore. And even though it might not seem like it at the time, let me tell you it is so worth it.

It might not help that our entire lives we have been asked what we are going to do with our lives and who we're going to be when we grow up. From an early age, we start to question and while then it might be beneficial then. as we grow up those questions aren't so innocent anymore and it's harder to find answers for them.

You don't know how to respond to those questions anymore. We're not five years old anymore dreaming about being an astronaut or a ballerina or the president. We're questioning how to be happy, how to live in a world full of darkness. And we're still being questioned about what we're gonna do with our lives.

We don't know. It's as simple as that, you just don't know. You don't know where you are going to be 5-10 years from now. You don't know what you are going to do with your life or who you are gonna be when you grow up. You don't know how to get done all you have to do.

To the person who doesn't know, know this, you're not alone. There is someone like you who doesn't know either. You could simply not know what to have for dinner or what to wear. It could grow into what do you need to do next or how are you gonna finish all your work. But you will and you can. You might have to run to catch up but you'll always be able to get there.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
