PERSISTENCE IS KEY.

Where we lack persistence, we lack success.

Persistence: Firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.

You truly need the persistence to accomplish anything in life. The first thing that comes to mind when I read the definition of persistence is success. Being successful means working hard. Doing what you have to do to get to where you are or where you want to be. This goes for getting that job you want or maybe earning a spot on your team. I’m here to tell you it’s going to be hard. You’re going to want to quit and just forget about it. I’m also here to tell you, please don’t. Don’t quit; don’t give up, because I promise it’s going to be worth it. You aren’t going to remember all the shit you went through to get there when you do because the feeling you have when you do get there will be indescribable.

Another topic that comes to mind when reading the definition of persistence is relationships. I think people forget about this. People need persistence. Take the time to put in that extra effort. Something as little as a phone call on the way home from work or leaving a cute note on the fridge when you leave in the morning goes a long way. I promise you. This goes for both people in the relationship. Don’t take your other for granted. A relationship takes patience, sacrifice, time, and persistence. So to you, it may seem silly to tell your significant other that you love them one hundred times a day but it isn’t! Why is that silly? Why is that excessive? That’s passion people. That’s never taking a day for granted and never letting someone walk through this life without letting him or her know they are loved and needed. Stop being afraid of showing your feelings. Let people in, get your heart broken, and for goodness sake when you love someone please let them know because when you don’t let them know, they are thinking you don’t. It isn’t crazy that people want reassurance. Relationships are hard. If they weren’t everyone would be in one. Be persistent and I promise your partner will be happier because if you won’t be persistent, someone else will.

Having persistence will assure that you are capable of earning that starting position, being the CEO of that company, and asking that hottie across the room out on a date or keeping that amazing relationship you have already. Wake up everyday and tell yourself, “You’re going to make it today and you’re going to kick a**.” When you are persistent, you feel unstoppable because you know whatever you set your mind to, you’ll do it.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
