Most people dread being on campus during breaks because of campus shut down, but here are a few reasons why staying on campus is actually exciting!

1. You can play your music as loud as you want, whenever you want and no one is around to complain.

No further explanation needed on this one!

2. You can do six loads of laundry uninterrupted and without feeling guilty.

3. You can try your hand at cooking, and if you accidentally set the smoke detector off, no one is around to be upset with you for disrupted their studying.

(But call Public Safety if you do set it off and nothing is on fire.)

4. On the topic of food, it's a break from all the usual campus food.

Yes, there is such a thing as too much Tim Hortons.

5. You can explore the city via public transportation with a day pass.

And not have to worry about making it back in time for class.

6. You can rearrange furniture in your room without having to worrying about making too much noise.

7. You can binge-watch Netflix on a shared TV and not feel guilty.

8. You can catch up on the ton of reading/homework/studying you have to do.

9. You can do all the cleaning you've been putting off because of class/work/clubs etc.

10. While everyone you know is taking spring break trips to Florida/North Carolina/Mexico, you wisely chose to stay on campus to save money.

Go you!

11. And even better yet, you won't have to worry about intoxicated adventures coming to Facebook and haunting you forever.

12. The best one of all: you can catch up on sleep after all of the all-nighters you pulled for midterms.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.
