The Perks Of Living With A Redhead

Why everyone should have a redheaded roommate

The Perks Of Living With A Redhead
Camila Cordeiro

We all worry about our first college roommate when we first arrive at college. But if you're like me and got paired with a fiery redhead, you may be able to relate to the list below.

1. They’re always sarcastic.

If you're a person who speaks fluent sarcasm, a ginger roommate would definitely be a good fit for you.

2. Their hair glows in the dark.

If the power ever goes out on you, have no fear! Your roommate's hair will light the way.

3. You can practice math with their freckles.

Don't bother trying to count the freckles on her face. You'll sooner count the stars in the sky.

4. Their lack of soul

These jokes, though sometimes offensive, will never catch your redheaded friend off guard.

5. They appreciate ginger jokes.

If you tell a ginger joke that they haven't already heard a million times, you'll certainly be on their good side.

6. Easy to spot in crowds

If you ever find yourself without your roommate by your side, simply look for the slightest speck of red in the crowd. Hopefully she isn't wearing a hat.

7. They always get compared to Amy Pond.

Is that really offensive though?

8. Everyone knows them by description.

"Which one is your roommate?"
"Oh, she's tall, wears red converse, science major."
"..."
"She's a redhead."
"Oh, yeah! I know her!"

9. Temper = Fire

Like any person, redheads have a temper. Only difference is, their hair will catch fire if provoked enough. Approach with caution.

10. Their energetic personality matches their hair.

Awesome, fiery, unique, enthusiastic... am I describing her hair or her personality? Who knows?

11. You will never think of yourself as pale again.

Along with their unique shade of hair comes their very fair skin! No introverted Alaskan can compare.

12. They let you write articles about them.

Thankfully, when you can't think of an idea for an article, they give you topics about redheads that you can run with.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.

The dynamics of any friend group are usually determined by the personalities which make it up. Chances are, while personalities may overlap, each person in your friend group holds his or her own place. It is the differences which bring the groups together and keep them functioning. No matter how functionally dysfunctional your friend group may be, if you're anything like me, you feel absolutely blessed to have found such a wonderful group of humans to call "your people." Here is what your friend group might look like if they were Disney princesses (and that wasn't just a thing you all pretended in your heads):
