Being barely 5'3 is always a conversation piece. Meeting new people and having them point out how short I am is great at time but at the same time it sucks. But let's be real and embrace how being short is a blessing.
1. Wearing high heels
You can wear as high of heels that you want and not have to worry about being too tall. It's glorious feeling knowing that you can change your height in a heartbeat and still feel totally sane.
2. Being able to fit in small spaces for long periods of time
Long car rides to your aunt's house three states over were and are always comfortable regardless of how far it is.
3. Not being asked how the weather is 'up there'
Let's face it, we're the ones that are usually joking with someone about that. Even though at times I envy those that are taller than me, I don't envy that punch line.
4. Being short for a girl is socially acceptable
If I were a dude and being short, let's just say that has an awkward stigmatism to it.
5. You don't have to worry about ducking your head
The idea of just hitting your head on something sounds painful, luckily being short can prevent that pain.
6. Everything is a jungle gym
Being a kid on the play ground will never end when you're short. Going to the grocery store will become your adult playground as shelves are too high and products seem unattainable.
7. Hide and Seek was your GAME growing up
Hands down you won every game. Being able to fit into any small space was once a unique skill that wins all.
8. You don't have to worry about your date being shorter than you
Let's be real, having a cute guy that's taller than you makes you feel secure and less awkward.
9. Perfect cuddle size
No need to explain.
10. Beds and blankets are always big and comfy
The best feeling of laying in a bed is having all of the blankets around you. Especially during the winter.
But most importantly, you're short and cute. But to be honest, it's worth being short and you have to embrace it. Life wouldn't be any better if we were taller.
