I would like to publicly thank three very legendary men, Gordon Bowker, Jerry Baldwin and Zev Siegl. These men had a huge impact of many people’s lives; they are the inventors of Starbucks coffee. Now you might be thinking this is a random topic to write about but I figured they needed some recognition for getting me through my days no matter my mood, good or bad. Despite how your day is going, it’s sure to always be made a little better, and it’s Starbucks we can thank.
The “I think I’m having an OK day, but I’m not really sure” drink
So maybe you didn’t get entirely enough sleep last night, or you didn’t have time to put on your mascara this morning, but you got to class on time and remembered to bring your laptop. Everything’s going fine, not too good, not too bad. This calls for a Salted Caramel Latte, iced or not depending on the weather. It’s the perfect combination of sweet and salty to balance out your day and remind you to take the good with the bad.
The “rainy day I wouldn’t move or put on pants for the life of me” drink
So, obviously it’s raining and you just want to snuggle up with your dog while sipping your latte and watching "Grey's Anatomy." I get, been there, but there’s one problem you have to get to Starbucks, which requires putting on clothes and leaving your bed. It might be a hassle but trust me, the Chai Tea Latte your about to get will be well worth it. Personally, it’s my favorite because I love to do nothing, and this is the coziest, “today is cancelled” flavored drink out there.
The “I’m having the worst day ever, someone make it stop” drink
Maybe you got a bad grade on that exam you studied really hard for, or you got in a fight with your best friend about something stupid and now you’re not talking to each other. Either way, today sucks. It happens, everyone has bad days, but what you need right now is something to cheer you up. The perfect thing for you right now is a Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino. Sometimes, the best way to deal with a bad day is to try to make yourself smile, and anything that has the word chocolate in it is sure to make you do just that.
The “I’m having the best day ever, life is wonderful” drink
These are the best days. The sun is shining, you don’t have any worries, and your biggest decision is what Starbucks drink you’re planning on getting today. Maybe you’re going to the beach or spending time with your friends. Days like this calls for an Iced Green Tea Lemonade or Passion Fruit Lemonade. Either one you choose will be as bright and cheerful as the day you’re having.
The “going on hour 12 at the library and I think I am beginning to hallucinate” drink
I know the feels, times like these are stressful and exhausting. You need something that will keep you awake, but at the same time won’t make you jittery and will also control your need to run around acting like a psycho in the library. I know exactly the thing for you -- a Caffe Americano will do the trick, and the quick study break will help, too. Good luck!
The “I feel like trying something new… and crazy” drink
I know this sounds gross and I was on the fence about it at first, too, but just hear me out. If and when you feel like you need to be risky and try something new, before you go skydiving and risk your life, stop off at Starbucks and try a Cotton Candy Frappuccino from the Starbucks secret menu. My best friend and I decided to try it one day and it changed our lives for the better. And now you don’t need to jump off a plane!
Lastly, the “Feeling energized, ready to go, and healthy” drink
OK, so maybe not the healthy part, but I guess the green color has that effect. I always secretly hope people think it’s a kale smoothie and that I have my life together, but that will be our secret. When you’re coming back from a workout at the gym and having a salad for lunch, it’s always a good idea to reward yourself with a Green Tea Frappuccino. I mean, it’s all about balance, right?
OK, so clearly an embarrassing amount of my time and money is spent on the Starbucks line, but that’s only more of a reason to trust this advice. The next time you’re feeling happy, or down, or somewhere in between, Starbucks is always the way to go.
