Perfect Presents For The Potterhead
Top 10 Gifts

Do you know someone who is obsessed with all things Harry Potter? Christmas is right around the corner, and if you're like me then you want to find the PERFECT presents. But believe me, if you're still looking for your wizard obsessed friend, then look no further. Problem solved (:

1. Wizard's Monopoly

I'm not that big of a fan of regular Monopoly, simply because one game could go on for hours. However, Harry Potter is one thing that I can read or watch for hours and never get bored of it. So being able to play a themed game? Definitely all for it.

2. Character Candles

Everyone loves candles, as they smell amazing and can be very calming. These candles are so much fun, and have Harry Potter themed scents. The reviews say they smell amazing too, so definitely something I would want to try.

3. Hermione's Time Turner

This is low key a beautiful piece of jewelry. It's such a big part of the books as well, as we learn how rare time turners really are. Having one is extremely special (and kind of illegal). That's why they're so appealing, even for us muggles.

4. Duel Bookmark

The one thing all Potterheads have in common is a love for reading. This bookmark is a still of Voldemort and Harry dueling. It's so simple and beautiful, and perfect to help you find your page.

5. Alohomora Key Rack

Alohomora is a spell that can unlock pretty much anything. So it's only fitting that you would put your keys on a rack engraved with the spell. It's a simple touch that will still keep your home classy.

6. Shot Glasses

Two of my favorite things, Harry Potter and shots! The frosted glass gives it an even more magical feel that makes this perfect for your bartender friend.

7. I Solemnly Swear...

Okay honestly, this made me laugh out loud. If you have a friend that has a bit of a potty mouth, then this might be the perfect gift for them. This is a funny twist to one of the most famous lines from the Harry Potter series.

8. Toilet Decal

Speaking of potty mouths, how bout a potty decal? This is so simple as well, but extremely funny if you understand it. If I'm honest, I want this on my future toilet (sorry future husband).

9. Wand Necklaces

Hermione's wand is my personal favorite, so I would opt for that wand. However, in necklace form, all the different wands are so delicate and pretty that you can't go wrong with any of them.

10. Coffee Mugs

Is your Potterhead a coffee drinker? Or even a tea drinker? If so, then this might be the perfect gift. Anyone would understand the outside with the 9 3/4. But only true Potterheads will understand the grim, and the meaning behind it.

11. Marauder's Map Scarf

Unfolded, this scarf is a beautiful work of art that screams Harry Potter nerd. But when rolled up, it's classy and cute. It allows any Potterhead to rep the thing they love without being too nerdy (not that we really care).

12. His & Her Pillows

These are two of my personal FAVORITE Harry Potter items. If you know a couple that are both in love with the wizarding world, I guarantee you that they'll love this. Another item that I want in my future home (again, sorry future husband).

13. Golden Snitch Dream Catcher

I've never really seen a dream catcher that wasn't beautiful. This one is no exception. It is simpler than most, and features a tiny golden snitch at the center. This is a beautiful way to rep Harry Potter without being too overbearing.

14. Spoon Set

Does your Potterhead also love cooking? If so, then this gift is perfect. It'll make anyone feel like they're stirring potions... instead of just stirring soup.

15. Apparel

Odds are, if you're a true Potterhead, then you have no problem repping your nerd side. Adding to this, everyone loves new clothes, especially comfy sweatshirts like this one. This particular item is so simple and classy, while still allowing you to rep the magical world that you love so much

I've been obsessed with all things Harry Potter since I was nine years old. I've re-read the series multiple times, and I've seen the movies more times than I can count (seriously, I can pretty much quote all eight films word for word). So after all that, I hope you can trust me when I say that all of these items are 100% perfect. Don't worry, your Potterhead will love them too.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.
