Now that finals week is officially closer than ever before it’s important to step-back and make sure you have everything you need. Since finals is the most important week of the semester, we understand that the pressure is HIGH—but that doesn’t mean you have to freak out! Take a look at everything on this list to make sure that you have your finals week essentials.

1. Motivation

Rightfully placed as number one on the list, you’re not going to get very far in finals week if you lack the motivation to succeed. If you’re feeling down-in-the-dumps, and motivation is starting to slip past you, make sure you ground yourself, take it one step at a time and work slowly so you don't overwhelm yourself. Plan ahead, and don’t procrastinate!

2. Snacks

Hunger can be the biggest downfall of them all when it comes to finals week, which is why it’s important to make sure your filling your body with good, healthy stuff (chips and dip isn’t really going to cut it anymore). Instead, reach for a banana or a bite of dark chocolate to fill yourself with natural stimulants and power through your projects!

3. Water

A reusable water bottle can become your best friend during finals. Staying hydrated is essential to keeping your mind on track! Now you’ll totally stay awake and refreshed during your studying.

4. Friends

Your friends are probably in the same boat as you right now, so take some time off together to catch a breath and take a break. If you don’t want to break away from your studying, grab a group of people to make a study group with!

5. Me-Time

You gotta love yourself before you can stress yourself. Show yourself some love with some quality me-time after long study hours. Drink some hot chocolate, read a good book or cuddle in bed with some stuffed animals and watch Netflix. Whatever your go-to is, make sure you don’t forget to pencil it into your schedule.

With these helpful tips, finals week is sure to fly on by! Did we miss anything? Let us know your favorite finals week habits in the comments down below! Have a happy, and healthy, finals week!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
