5 Facts That Will Get You To Drop The Bacon And Go For The Greens

I get it. People love eating fried foods, chips, ice cream, and burgers.

These foods are convenient and make us happy when we come to eat our meals and snacks. Because without food, we wouldn’t be able to survive. Some people think we are limited to a certain amount of foods, usually it’s pizza and sandwiches for a typical person. Then it’s some eggs and bacon for breakfast on the weekends, and maybe we’ll have that apple that’s been sitting it our backpack for 2 days straight that you never got to eat. This one scenario out of many that is usually the case with a lot of people raised in America.

My goal here is not scare you or have you run away thinking that I’m lying. What I want is to help you question the world and give you a new perspective on how you eat and why it really matters.

Disclaimer: All facts is provided by the case-study made on plant based diets.

“Food is Medicine”

Eating a more whole food plant based lifestyle will dramatically decrease your risk for major chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes. Say goodbye to ever getting cancer in the future as well. Food changes our genes and bacteria. Once you eat more fruits and vegetables your mind and body will thank you in the long run.

“Real Men Don’t Eat Meat”

What I really mean is that, as you eat less meat, your testosterone levels will go up and you’ll produce more of this hormone. For guys, if you like to ‘get it on’, trust me that you’ll last longer in bed and have less of a chance of having erectile dysfunction in your future.

“Better Fitness Results”

Eating more fruits and vegetables means you’ll receive more carbohydrates. This macro nutrient is the fuel for your muscles to last longer during a workout. Many athletes like Rich Roll, Jim Morris, Carl Lewis, and Mike Tyson have seen great success by changing! The Forest Green Rovers English soccer team has their whole team on the lifestyle. Many people in the fitness industry worry too much about protein, but don’t worry, it’s easy to receive a good amount of protein without meat.

“Plants have Vitamins and Minerals”

Not eating a lot of vegetables and fruits every day can put you at risk of developing greater amount of deficiencies in the body and brain. Taking a blood test is a good way to start if you don’t know. It can tell you whether you need to eat more foods with this vitamin or mineral to help your body get healthier. Your brain and body can’t run without these little things that make the difference. Definitely having a colorful plate with a variety of different foods will ensure you that you’re on the right track!

“Vegetables Taste Amazing”

Your taste buds change about every 10 days. So what you think tastes bad, could taste good (and the opposite). It’s all about trying new things. The more you eat something, the more you’ll want it again.

In short, I hope you found this list of information useful to you. Our parents told us to eat our vegetables at dinner time for a good reason.Encourage more people to do the same.

Until next time.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
