Life is a long adventure. It takes us places we could never imagine. Places that bring utter happiness and joy to our lives and some places that are rather dark. Throughout all the journeys we take, we meet people along the way that make it all worth it. These people may only be in our lives for a short time, but the laughs and memories that are made together will be a part of you forever. That's the real beauty of it, I think. All these people that come into our lives as strangers become some of our best friends for a long time or a short one. When you take a step back and look at it, it is quite a beautiful concept.
When we take trips or vacations, we are bound to meet people that are either doing the same or people who actually reside there. Either way, we create bonds with them the second we meet them. Even when you are so much as walking through an airport and waiting for your flight and someone begins talking to you. Odds are you will never see them again let alone remember their name, but for that short amount of time you get to know one another and enjoy the time that is spent together. Laughs and stories are shared. Each and every one of the people we meet on our adventures become a small part of us and our stories.
This concept can be very relevant to the trips we all took for spring break. Going to places that are just packed with other college kids that are trying to have fun just like you. You meet them, make connections and enjoy the time spent together. Some of the people you meet can become your breakfast buddies simply because you said a very enthusiastic good morning to them one morning and have been friends ever since. Some you may have met just by taking a cab together one night, and since then have spent time everyday together as true homies, dancing, holding iguanas, and who knows what else. Others you may meet on your very last day but end up having the most spontaneous fun day with, filled with jumping off cliffs, driving jet skis, and hanging out on a rich man's yacht.
These people we may or may never see again. That is a sad thought, but in reality its not likely we will. For that week though we had the time of our lives together, and each and every one of them will be forever ingrained in the memories that we shared.
It's the times like these that we form memories with complete strangers who became incredible friends to us in such a short time. Those memories I can almost guarantee will never be forgotten. We have pictures that remind us of the crazy times we shared. If given the chance to see these people again, you should always take it. Real friends will know you better in the first five minutes of meeting you than fake friends will know in a lifetime.
I hope that I am given the chance to see some of the people that I grew fond of over break. If given that chance, I would take it; hopefully they would think the same thing! These people we meet on our journey throughout life come into our lives for a reason, whether small or big. Here's to the nights we can't remember, with the friends we will never forget.
