People Vs. Puppies

The truth is RUFF sometimes

People Vs. Puppies

Dogs are so much better than people for a numerous amount of reasons. For one, dogs will never ever under any circumstances ever really let you down. From the first moment you picked them up from a shelter, kennel, or pet store they've been nothing but a loyal friend to you and those around you. They never fail to bring a smile to someone's face. Not to mention that dogs are incredibly adorable in everything that they do. They have those big, humongous, gorgeous puppy dog eyes that they grow into and just always melt your own heart away. They could basically get away with anything whenever puppy dog eyes come into play and we all know it. It's amazing how they are always so happy and excited to see you.

Unfortunately, humans don't always necessarily have the beloved qualities that in fact most dogs seem to have. For instance, people don't always sense how you're feeling the way dogs do. You could go all day being upset about something or even really excited and some, if not most people won't notice at all but dogs always do. They will either play with you and distract you until you feel like your old self again or share the happy with you while you pet their super soft fur till your heart's content.

Another things dogs are better at than humans is cuddling! Dogs are always there to cuddle and they are so fuzzy, and soft, and warm. No matter what size a dog is, it is the perfect size to cuddle with. Bigger ones can lay beside you or keep your feet warm on a cold winter night at the end of your bed and smaller dogs can even lay on top of you. You can always feel a dog's love for you. Dogs are the most loving creatures and we sometimes take them for granted. We are all they have. They may only be in a part of our lives but we are their entire lives. They love unconditionally. They aren't like humans who may judge others by the color of their skin, how much they weigh, the house they live in, or even the clothes on a person's back.

Dogs are untouched by society and its standards. As long as you take care of them they take care of you. They follow you wherever you go and they never forget you. Dogs are incredibly selfless and I wish we humans could be even just the slightest bit more like dogs. Sure they may make a mistake every now and then and pee on the floor when they get excited or mistake your shoes for a new toy but you gotta admit in the long run they are pretty much the best pet and friend you could have. I mean we all make mistakes. In a way that is the dog's way of being a little human like in their mannerisms. They always forgive us for our mistakes so we should do the same.

We should all take the best care of our dogs and other pets as we can. We owe it to them!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
