To The People Who Got Me Through Freshman Year

During your freshman year in college, if you are lucky, you will find people who will make the year great. They were there for the hard times, and helped you to come out on the other side as a better person. To those people, I owe so much.

To Andi, thank you. Thanks for living with me and for dealing with my messiness, and the mornings when I had to get ready for my 8 a.m. and you didn't have class until 11 a.m. Thank you for going out with me, and staying in with me. And thank you for joining in on my random singing sessions at three in the morning (Alexander Hamilton anyone?).

To my suitemates, thanks for dealing with my loud voice and my loud music. Thank you for always popping in and scaring the crap out of me (@mich). Thank you for not calling a noise complaint on me and always letting me in when I forget my key.

To my study buddies, honestly there is a very good chance I wouldn't have made it through our classes with out you guys. Thank you for dealing with my dumb questions and the intense mental breakdown I go through before any exam and thanks for helping me make it to sophomore year.

To my mom, thank you for sending me to this school. Thank you for letting me make my mistakes in college, and then letting me learn how to fix them. Thank you for (almost) always answering my calls, and listening to me rant in between classes about the changing food in the cafe.

To my dad, thank you for always answering my calls, even when you had a conference call. Thanks for being as bored as I am whenever I call you. Thank you for coming to visit me and letting me show you off to all of my friends.

To my sorority, thank you for welcoming me home. Thank you for putting so many wonderful and amazing people into my life that will be there forever. Thank you to my sisters for making me get out of bed on a Saturday to go and take beautiful pictures in beautiful locations. Thank you to my big, twin, niece, grand big, god big and all of my other sisters for accepting me for me and not being scared to be stuck with me for life now.

To my friends, thank you for dealing with my craziness. Thanks for always answering my random facetimes, and getting me out of sketchy situations. I am so lucky to have come across a group of friends that have stood by my side through the past year and have always been up for random chipotle runs. Thank you for laying with me and talking me through the hard times, for being my shoulder to cry on, and for offering to pretend to be me in my calculus class (Natalie). There is no other group of people I would have rather gone through this year with, and I will be forever grateful for the friendships I have built with each and every one of you.

To my school, I know you aren't the right place for everyone, but thank you for being the right one for me. Thank you for living up to my expectations, and exceeding them. Thank you for all the opportunities you have given me, such as getting to pet several puppies and a pony during finals week. Thank you for working with me to help me to succeed, because that is one of the most important things my university can offer me, which are the tools I need to succeed.

Freshman year, you were crazy, fun, difficult, and amazing all at the same time. The experiences I had this year and the people I met have been some of the biggest highlights in my life. It's been fun, but now its time to take a break and get ready for next year so I can come back for bigger and more extraordinary things.

Sorority

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
