As the holiday season is rolling around everyone will be looking for the best deals. Sometimes that means shopping online. Sometimes it means waiting for hours outside a closed store. Whatever the method is, people will swear by it. More and more people are turning to online sites, though. They aren't official store websites, but if they are cheaper it can be worth it. There are scams online, though. You can never really be sure if something is real or not until it's too late.
I love corgis. I always have, and I always will. I have wanted one since I was little. I'm not sure if it's their fluffy butts that float on water or their tiny legs. I wanted one so badly that I started looking online. I found one, and he was perfect. He was black, tan, and white. He had the fluffiest little butt, and I knew I would love him. He had the cutest name, and a heart pattern on his face. The man said I would just have to pay for shipping costs to have the dog shipped from Canada. I told him that I would rather come pick the puppy up. He began ignoring me. Eventually, I had to accept that it was a scam. I moved on.
Eventually, I decided to look again. There was a promising sale this time. It was a nice old lady who needed to have ear surgery. She was moving, and she couldn't take her dog with her. I gave her my phone number, and we were talking back and forth for days. I brought up the topic of being scammed recently. I asked for a picture of the dog with an object so I could trust her. She flipped out and told me that the sale wasn't right. I believed her in the end, though, and I almost shipped her money. My mother eventually texted her asking for information on the puppy. She gave different stories, and she began getting angry. I then had to realize that this too was fake.
It wasn't fair at all. I was stunned that in a week, two people would trick me. It was all for $90 too. She wasn't even charging that much for the puppy. I was hurt, and I couldn't believe that people actually did that for a living. I couldn't believe that they could hurt and trick people and still sleep at night. So, to the man who scammed me, you should be ashamed of yourself, but it was wise of you to chicken out before I could figure it out. Props to you. To the woman who scammed me, you are just downright evil. You got me to trust you, even using my religion as a way in, and I believed that you were truly someone that needed help. You played on the fact that I am a kind person that wants to help others. That wasn't fair at all. I sincerely hope that both of you can find something better to do with your lives, as long as we never meet again.
