Since I was in elementary, I have been asked so many questions about myself based on my skin tone. It seems like every time I meet a new person they ask or say the same things everyone has said. Here are the top six things I have been told or asked.
1. This is your real hair?
Does it really matter?
2. Can I touch your hair?
WHY? I have hair and you have hair. WE BOTH HAVE HAIR! If you want to play in my hair yes go for it. Just don't ask me to touch it because you are curious.
3. Stop acting white.
What does that even mean? You can't act like a color.
4. You're not ACTUALLY black.
Hello, my mother and father are black so therefore I am too. Sorry my skin tone is not the right shade for you.
5. Are you black and white?
Those are not the only two races that exist people. There are so many more.
6. What are you?
Human. I am a human.
