If you're like me, you've moved more times than you can count. In the past four years, I've moved three times. In just eighteen short years I have lived in five states and nine homes. Over that time I've noticed a few things that never really change.

1. How to get rid of things

After being in one place for a time, you collect things. The experienced mover knows that down sizing will make your life so much easier. It's normally the little things or the things that hold no sentimental value that leave us. Normally, it's easier and a big space saver to just buy a new one when you get where you are going.

2. How to live out of a suitcase

Some journeys take a while and living out a suitcase is required. Honestly, the experienced mover is also an experienced packer.

3. Never really unpacking

Let's be real, you never really unpack. I've lived in one house for two years and I still had a box in the corner of the room. You learn how to live out of boxes and keep at least a few around so that you can be packed and ready to go at a moment's notice.

4. Making fast friends

This one is sometimes the easiest. Everyone loves to meet the new person and will generally be friendly and welcoming to you. If not, most experienced movers can be very outgoing and if not approached first will take it upon themselves to find people they like. They know how to make some life long friends and they tend to be very loyal.

5. Getting the lay of the land

Figuring out the new area is a must for all experienced movers. You need to know where things are and since you have moved so much, you know how to find the stores necessary to survival.

6. Taking in the culture around you

Probably the most fun thing about moving is the chance to take in a new culture. Exploring new places and trying new things makes the move more worthwhile. You get the chance to let your excitement grow and it gives that new place more appeal.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.

11 Things We Learned From Brooke Davis

"What's more important? What we become or how we become it?"

Brooke Davis

"She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday, and I'm not sure she even knows it." - Lucas Scott, An Unkindness of Ravens

Brooke Davis of the hit show One Tree Hill was the it girl - she had it all, or so we thought. She started out as a stuck-up, shallow, spoiled, head cheerleader who didn't have her life together. She slept around a lot and loved to party - sounds like your typical high school teenager right? Wrong. B. Davis had so much more to offer. Caring, loyal, and outspoken, she has taught us some valuable lessons throughout the 9 seasons that OTH was on the air:

We all have a person, and when that person makes some new friends, we tend to forget all the great things that can come out of it. Never forget how special they are to you and why you are best friends.
