And which one are you?

As odd as it seems, we all know that when the winter season hits, and snow starts to touch the ground, all of us gain a new personality based on the new season. With winter right around the corner for us, here are some people you may encounter throughout the season. Hell, you might even be one of them.

1. The person who is ALWAYS sick.

And you probably already know which friend this is. Every time you want to go out and do something, they’ve got some new sort of sickness to ruin your plans. You’ll most likely find them carrying a box of tissues and a bag of cough drops wherever they go. Until the warmer weather starts, you probably won’t see much of them at all.

2. The hibernator.

This person is most likely always sleeping. And when they’re not, they’re only awake to chow down on some food before crawling back into bed and passing out again. They’ll probably tell you they’re too tired every time you want to go out, even though you already know they’ve had more than enough sleep.

3. The one who always wants to go out.

Even when there are eight inches of snow on the ground. Even when there’s a blizzard outside. They’re the ones who are probably calling you telling you it’s the perfect time to go out and be adventurous when all you want to do is stay inside and keep out of the cold.

4. The "Netflix n Chill" friend.

Not so much in the alternative sense, but in the sense that they literally just want to stay inside and binge watch the newest TV show released on Netflix. You’ll catch them cuddled under a blanket drinking hot cocoa on their fifth season of Scrubs, probably sleep deprived and thinking about the next show they’re going to binge on.

5. The complainer.

Because they’re always, and I mean always, complaining about how cold it is outside. You don’t hear anything out of their mouths except how much they miss summer and how much they hate the cold. This is the person you probably want to slap upside the head because you get it, the cold sucks. No need to be so repetitive.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
