The Six People in Every Group Photo

Which one are you?

All of us have group photos saved on our camera roll that we'll never post. That is, if you're the one who messed up the group photo. Most commonly these can be saved as blackmail, or posted with the caption "personality pic." Each group has this person, which one are you?

1. The one who's always ready

You don't have a bad side, or a bad hair day. You are always ready to snap a photo with your besties. Even if the wind is blowing, you have your prettiest smile on and your hair doesn't move out of place. You're often asked to be in everyone's group photo because you're cute and you rake in the instagram likes.

2. The RBF

You always look angry. If the the person taking the picture didn't count down, you probably look like you're going to murder someone. When you walk through the hallways, you always have at least one person who tells you that you'd be prettier if you smiled. Your time to shine comes when the group wants to take a serious photo. Now they're the ones who can;t keep a straight face.

3. The one looking dumb on purpose

Instead of anyone being able to make fun of your face for looking dumb, you get to say you did it on purpose. That is, if the picture was candid in the first place. If you are this person who messes up pictures when everyone else looks nice, you can't sit with us. It took us ten tries to get everyone smiling with their eyes open, and now we can't post it because you had to be the class clown. Bye, Felicia.

4. The one who's eyes are closed

Pull yourself together. Unless you were studying all night, then I feel you girl. Go take that nap.

5. The one looking at the wrong camera

Everything about the picture is great. You got a huge smile, you kept your eyes open... but your looking at a different spot than everyone else. This picture is probably going to get posted and you'll get roasted.

6. Bonus: The guy who comes to ruin the picture

This guy can ruin the picture in several ways. Most common is that he tries to block the camera. Not unheard of though would be: sneaking in the background to make obscene gestures, making a vulgar comment that causes everyone in the picture to react, or jumping into the picture and acting like one of the girls.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
