In college, you meet all kinds of people that act, behave, and think differently. The group of amazing people that I've had the opportunity to study with really are quite a diverse crowd. The first set of polar opposites in the group would be political views. As many of us sat around the room on election night, there were many that were some happy, a few indifferent, and some unhappy about the results. The political views are just the beginning, though. The ideological beliefs of America also vary amongst the group.
One man believes the south and the confederacy shall rise again. He wears large belt buckles and chews dip, but, while a character, is one of the greatest guys anyone can ever meet.
One of the girls in the group supports our troops and the union more than any person I have ever met.
Despite these differing views of how the country should be kept, or rather separated, there has yet to be any clashes within the group. The majors range from Political Science to nursing and even a geology major (despite the success rate.) There are people that would keep to themselves, and there are also people that would rather email a priest to initiate a battle rather.
One woman disliked the priest injecting his political agenda into the homily, and she emailed him and began an argument.
While the group as a whole is rather dysfunctional, there is no group I'd rather be a part of to begin my college career. I would like to send a big shout out to all of them for staying up until 5 a.m. studying, helping me, and being just an all-around amazing group of people. Thank you all and let's have an amazing semester.
