Penguins are on my list of favorite animals for many different reasons. They come in all different shapes and sizes, they're funny, cute, and all around awesome. They swim, but they can't fly. Mostly they're just pretty cool animals, and here's why.

1. They live in warm and cold places.

You can see them trekking through ice or relaxing on island beaches. Not many animals live in places that are so different. Penguins are everywhere.

2. They wobble.

It's just fun to watch. They're birds, but they're forced to walk around awkwardly.

3. They huddle.

A waddle of penguins is the cutest things ever. They just all huddle together to keep warm and to protect their young.

4. They're fuzzy.

Nothing is more adorable than these baby penguins. Nothing.

5. They slide.

This one isn't successfully sliding on ice, but it is still pretty cute.

6. Some have fun hair.

They're just hilarious to look at. That is all.

7. There are good movies about them.

"March of the Penguins" makes you cry. Mumble makes you laugh. "Surf's Up" is enjoyable. Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private are the coolest penguins ever.

8. They can't fly.

It's actually pretty sad and kind of pathetic,

9. You can play with them at the zoo.

Some zoos let you pet and feed them.

10. They sit on their babies.

Anything involving these babies is adorable.

11. They're always ready for a formal event.

They're always looking fancy.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
