UNCG. Home to 19,000 Spartans, prides itself on outstanding academic programs but also prides itself along with over 200 clubs and organizations. These clubs offer students experiences in: cultural, educational, religious, political, and athletic student-run organizations. This article is dedicated to the club, Asian Students Association, also known as ASA.
The main goals of UNCG ASA are to promote academic success and leadership development among Asian and non-Asian students on campus, and to have better understanding of ethnically diverse Asian cultures through educational activities and civic responsibilities. UNCG ASA exists to develop the capacity to ensure the full participation of its members within the greater community of the UNCG campus and the Triad area.

The main purposes of UNCG ASA shall be:
1.) To promote academic success and leadership development for all its members through social and educational opportunities.
2.) To promote unity among Asian and non-Asian students on campus through programs.
3.) To promote the understanding of the ethnic diverse Asian cultures through educational activities.
4.) To promote civic responsibilities and develop the capacity to ensure the full participation of its members within the greater community of UNCG campus and the Triad area.
The current president of ASA is Grant Young and his reason for joining ASA is, “After my time in South Korea I came back to America and wanted to still be involved in active Asian culture. ASA allow me to connect with people of many different cultures and learn new things along the way. Hashtag thanks asa.”
The current vice president of ASA is Sumei Kom and her reason ASA is, “ I joined ASA to make a difference at UNCG. To spread Asian culture and high academia in the overall community. But ASA is not only a club to me but a family of people from all backgrounds. ASA allows me to be myself and make great friends.”
Historian of ASA is Brian Le with his reason of, “Why Did I Join ASA? My sister forced me too.”
