The Peanut Gallery

Christmas time is here, sleigh bells in the air. Did you get everything you want? Or has the Christmas spirit come and gone for you? Here are some lessons from the Peanut Gallery to carry you through the new year.

1. There are always some people who over analyze...but that's not always a bad thing.

2. Be thankful for your white Christmas, no matter what form it comes in: jackets, shirts, snow.

3. Just remember, your obnoxious-problem-solver friend she's only trying to help.

3. Sally said all she wanted for Christmas was "what she had coming, her fair share." But come on what does anyone really deserve in this life except love?

4. Commercialism while fun remember there is also a deeper meaning.

5. Friends can be cruel but don't let them second guess your decisions.

6. Out of all the people in the room there's bound to be one person who knows what he's talking about.

7. You can have the best intentions but even the best laid plans go awry...

8. Sometimes the darkest of situations just need a little fixin' with some love.

I hope you walked away from this commercial Christmas season grateful; and you walk into the new year with fresh insight and friends like these to keep you grounded.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
