Some of us peaked in high school. Some of us will never be better than the person we were for those long four years. However, high school, for some of us, was not that kind of cake walk. We were not “lucky” enough to be the cool one, the skinny one, or the one that everybody wanted to have as a friend. Some of us weren’t invited to the parties, and some of us even got rejected at the door.

But, the some of us that were fortunate enough to peak after high school are the true lucky ones. Here are the real reasons why peaking after high school is way better than being the popular one roaming those cheap, linoleum-floored halls.

There is way more to life than high school. While you’re there you feel like you’re never leaving. Sometimes it even feels like those walls could collapse on you at any moment, and it would be totally fine, because then you wouldn’t have to come back the next day.

You’re the best version of yourself (so far). And you know it. You can feel a change in yourself knowing that you’ve never been this confident before. Embrace it.

You get hit on… a lot. Compare this to high school, where someone showed interest in you a whopping zero times.

Going out to places and seeing the old “popular” kids you graduated with is awesome. You wont realize right away, but its actually a blessing in disguise. By the end of the night though, half of them are drunk and trying to get with you, while the other half just stand there in the corner, too scared to leave the group. You'll be shocked, yet satisfied. You'll see that the group of people you once wanted to be apart of so badly, aren’t that special at all. You'll watch them gain that freshman 15 (or 50) through Instagram. You'll hear all the stories about how almost everyone has broken up. You will feel so very satisfied.

You have no where to go but up. Not being confident throughout high school is normal. Let’s face it, for the majority of us high school really sucked, but you have everything to look forward too.

You find your people. Sometimes the people you attended high school with aren’t the kind of people you feel comfortable surrounding yourself with. Once you graduate, you will start finding friends that you can relate to, friends that benefit your life. Whether it be from a new job, college, or even from a gym or club that you have joined, you can relate to these people.

You start looking forward to your high school reunion. You imagine yourself walking through the doors of that super typical Knights of Columbus reception hall and watching everyone turn to look at you. You know what they’ll be thinking, “Look how amazing whatever-their-name-is looks.” All the while you’re finally seeing how much everyone has changed since graduation; some not for the better.

There is a lot you need to thank your old high school self for; once you realize how far you’ve actually come. If it wasn’t for that person you used to be, you would have nothing to compare your peak to. You will never be as grateful or as happy as you are now if it weren’t for those 4 long years. Coming from the fat girl, the girl who had to become the editor of the yearbook in order to ensure actually being part of it, the band geek, and the girl who no one paid attention to - life only gets better. You just have to be patient and enjoy the ride along the way, because you only get to watch yourself rise to the top once.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
