Paying for housing, food, and your habits can be difficult for many students who haven't been given a small loan of a million dollars.

That's why having a job during the summer and more often than not during the school year can be required. This can be such a pain because showing up to work is a drag, isn't it? If you don't want to show up at work, then follow these tips to get a job online, and make money while sitting in your PJs sipping instant hot chocolate.

1. Build Your Online Resume

Working at your local pizza shop won't cut it for many online jobs. They want to see online expertise and experience. You don't need to be a computer wiz though! Start out by learning some basic HTML or learning how clickbait articles are written and what terms like "traffic" mean in the internet realm.

2. Get Your First Position

Having something on your resume, anything at all, is a great step. Usually to get a first starting position though, you need to work for very small wages. This can be anything from $5 an hour to $10 an hour. Accept the hard wages and get your first foothold in the realm or you will have trouble getting a more lucrative job!

3. Know Where To Look

Online jobs that "appear to you" are often times scams and are a waste of time. You need to know somebody who can hook you up, or know where to look for online jobs. A great place to start is Craigslist. Go to the jobs section, then search jobs that can be done from home. Try terms like: Copywriter, Music Producer, Online Tutoring, Social Media Management, and Transcriber. Many positions will require a BA degree, however apply anyways! If they are posting on craigslist, chances are they really need somebody and many students have success with this type of application!

4. Make Your Own Job

Another great way to make money online is by making your own job. This can be offering a service or aid to somebody for a fee. The number one site for this is fiverr.com, where you can do jobs for $5 a piece. This can be anything from singing a customized love song for somebody's anniversary to drawing a chartitature for people. I started out on fiverr making about an extra $50 a week producing music.

5. Be a Boss

Literally and figuratively. You will be your own boss. Stay disciplined. To succeed in the online realm you need to be on time and organized at every turn in your career. Figuratively, if you work online, you can make money in your PJs, that's pretty boss. and Keep looking for online positions. Writing and Creative Process jobs are typically the most lucrative for time, with average pay of $30 an hour. Build your resume over time, and soon you can be in a comfortable position making money in no time at all.
