9 Reasons Paul Watson From 'Cedar Cove' Is The Man Of Your Dreams

Because if Olivia doesn't choose him, I will.

The Hallmark TV series "Cedar Cove," based on the books by Debbie Macomber, has its share of eye candy, and audiences have noticed. Some love the diligent Jack. Others fall for the charismatic Warren. Still others prefer the damaged Luke. However, at the start of season three, there came a character that outshined them all: the faithful, selfless Paul. Here are nine reasons why Paul Watson from "Cedar Cove"is the man of your dreams.

1. Paul is smart and hard-working.

He strolls into town as the New York-minted, freshly divorced district attorney and knows how to play his cards. After his divorce, his career became his focal point. He threw himself into his job, taking on extra cases and spending late nights in the office to avoid going home to an empty house. As a result, practice made perfect, and Paul became a sought-after attorney.

2. Paul is good-natured, sweet, and dorky.

When Olivia first meets Paul, she cracks a joke about his crazy socks. He takes it in stride. He indulges in takeout and kindly buys some for Olivia when she's working late to make sure she is eating. By walking her to her car each night, he ensures that she is protected. He's smart, but he never rubs it in others' faces. How could Olivia not feel chills when he wrapped his arms around her to show her how to correctly swing the golf club? He exercises power and also treats each of his employees with kindness and respect. When he grins, he looks like a golden retriever. How can you not melt when he daily knocks on Olivia's door to inquire about her day?

3. Paul is a sharp dresser.

Being the DA of Cedar Cove requires that you dress the part, and Paul certainly did. He rocked the full suit for the wedding and sported the team shirt for the charity softball game. But his best outfit, in my opinion, was the one he wore every day in different variations: the slacks, classic tie, suit coat, and dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Exposing forearms while wearing a collared business shirt is any woman's kryptonite, and he certainly caught my attention on the screen.

4. Paul's physique.

Not only is Paul a sharp dresser, but he is also great at taking care of his body. In his roughly mid-30s, Paul shows zero hint of a dad bod. Maybe it was the fact that he (allegedly) went to college on a baseball scholarship and kept the habit, but Paul is in shape. That is obvious from his athleticism at the softball game and his frequent jogs with Olivia.

5. Paul's eyes and smile.

Now tell me, who could not fall for those crystal blue eyes and pearly whites?

6. Paul is devoted to and respects his loved ones.

As the eldest of six children, Paul always had to be thinking of others before himself. That behavior carried on into adulthood. Whenever he loves a person, he devotes his whole heart to them, which is why he was so crushed after his divorce. He tries to counsel his loved ones, but ultimately he respects their decision, even if the outcome hurts him. He would rather be heartbroken in order to see a friend happy. We see this raw emotion when Paul confesses his feelings to Olivia.

"You once said that love was worth fighting for. And I want to stay – I want to fight for you. But I can't blow up your world. You have Jack," he says.

Even though he broke his own heart in the process, Paul wanted Olivia to be happy. When he sees his loved ones happy, he is happy.

7. Paul is firm in his morals and sticks to his guns.

One cannot be a lawyer without being firm in beliefs, and Paul has no problem with that. His moral code dictates his personal and professional life. Whether he is prosecuting the boy with a DUI or explaining suspension to Rebecca, he stays true to what he believes in and never backs down from a fight – until Olivia bangs her gavel. His passion for justice drives him, which makes him a great lawyer and an even better man.

8. Paul listens to guidance and advice.

However, he is not so stubborn as to ignore the advice of others. Paul often submits to Olivia's guidance and is a willing student, even when they disagree. He follows what the judge decrees in the courtroom and also takes into account what she says concerning the rebellious Rebecca, acknowledging her experience and authority.

9. Paul has a motorcycle.

Dressed in all leather, riding that motorcycle – enough said.

Paul Watson is a gem. And while it hurts me that he and Olivia (supposedly) did not end up together on the show, I guess it just means the man of my dreams is available!

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
