st off, if you missed the game, no matter who you were rooting for, you missed the best game in history. If you don't know what happened, the Patriots came back from a 25 point deficit to defeat the Falcons in overtime, to take home the Lombardi trophy. No team has ever come back from a deficit that large and won, especially in a Super Bowl. New England fans everywhere had mixed emotions all throughout the game. Here is an inside look at the reactions we all had:
1. Reading all the pre-game reports the week leading up to the game, and all of them saying the Patriots were going to loose.
2. The day of the game, making sure all your meals and snacks are perfect for the party.
3. Drooling over Luke Bryan during the national anthem.
4. Waiting to see if we were going to win the coin toss.
5. When the game finally kicked off.
6. Seeing Tom Brady take the field for the first time.
7. When no one scored during the first quarter.
8. But then you remember the Patriots have never scored in the first quarter of a Super Bowl.
9. When the Falcons scored their first touchdown.
10. But then the Patriots didn't score one...
11. And then the Falcons scored two more touchdowns, and we only had a field goal, making it 21-3 at the half.
12. But then we all got to take a break from the game and watch Lady Gaga absolutely slay her halftime performance.
13. And then, the Falcons scored yet another touchdown, making it 28-3.
14. But we all knew Brady was not going to lose this game.
15. When we finally scored a touchdown, but Gostkowski missed the extra point.
16. When the Patriots started to look like robots, and before you knew it the score was 28-20, and the sun started shining again.
17. When Edelman made the best catch in NFL history.
18. When we scored with 57 seconds left in the fourth quarter, forcing the game into overtime.
19. Winning the coin toss in overtime.
20. When White ran the ball into the end zone and we were officially... CHAMPIONS
21. Watching Goodell hand us the trophy after all the hate we got from him.
22. And finally, getting your 87 cent coffee at Dunks the next morning (because we all needed it).
So thank you, Patriots, for giving us something to believe in all the time.
