It happens like so.
You get used to doing something for so long, and suddenly God closes it shut. You could sit back and wonder why God would do that, or you automatically understand that God closed that door and instead opened up a new one. This is what we call change.
How would I know? Well, I'm going to college in six weeks... and three days. (I'm not counting at all).
We can take change in two different ways; you could refuse change so you can continue to do what you love, or you could step out of the the little square you call comfort.
Our lives get into a routine. Wake up, brush our teeth, eat breakfast, stare out the window (if you're like one of my dearest family member, kudos to the ones who can figure out which one) and so forth.
Everything in that little square is in our reach. Our friends, our job, our home, the list could go on and on and on...
God has many clear ways of helping us trust him. One of these ways is change.
Now that my childhood is coming to a close and adulthood is just around the corner, things are definitely changing. My life is beginning a new journey where it's just me trusting God that he'll take care of my needs.
Is it scary? Well, I think it's exciting. Like a good old friend of mine said, "Its like writing a story where you get to meet new characters." God is the author and you are the protagonist of your own story. Pretty cool, huh?
I think that sometimes we don't like the change, or we are scared that things will never be the same, which makes me laugh because the whole point of change is so that our surroundings are not the same. A verse that really sums this up is Psalm 32:8 "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye." God is not opening and closing doors just because he wants to see us panic, he does it because he knows what our future is and knows what's best for us. Change can be frightful because no one has control over it, but change is different through the perspective of a Christian. I do believe that change can be hard with some Christians because we have to trust a God with our future. I would like to clear some confusion people might have with Christians.
Christians don't always take change well, because we are not perfect. In fact, if you ask some Christians, they have hard time with letting God lead because, like all of us, they like to be in control.
In conclusion, I believe my story will be great because my life is like a book. I don't know what's to come until my author writes the next page, like C.S Lewis and the Pevensie children or Mark Twain and Tom Sawyer.
