While ordering Italian delivery on a rainy Monday night I found myself to be completely overwhelmed when I approached the pasta dishes. How many kinds of pasta can there possibly be and why are there never descriptions for what they are. It's not your average person who has a pasta encyclopedia stored in their brain, it's hard enough to pronoun their names as it is. I've decided to make a pasta guide in hopes it will help at least one other friend in need for this sensitive matter. I've picked a select few that I have seen here and there from restaurant to restaurant that are long cut, ribbon cut, short cut, decorative cut and pasta with filling. Who knew there were some many freaking categories with so many different styles.
Linguine
Rigatoni
Capellini
Fusilli
Spaghetti
The classic childhood favorite.
Ziti
Lasagna
Tagliatelli
Macaronni
Kraft's all the way, baby.
Penne
Farfalloni
AKA bowtie pasta.
Gnochi
A potato based pasta that is to die for when done right.
Conchiglie
The magic conch.
Ravioli
Tortellini
Cheese-stuffed good good.
Best of luck pasta dummies.
