Dear future me,

Mistakes happen, regrets happen, disappointments happen, heartbreaks happen, and etc...all those happen. And I want you to know that it's okay to not be like how you used to be. It's okay to change your lifestyle. It's okay to become a better person. You don't have to feel like you need to be someone that you used to be. You don't need to love things that you once loved. You don't need to have people in your life that are filled with negativity. It's okay to let people go. And it's okay to move on from them. You don't need to feel like you need to be with someone just because you're comfortable with them. It's okay to get out of your comfort zone and discover new things. You need to be aware that people change and sometimes aren't meant to be in your life anymore and it's okay if they leave their mark in your life and then decide to leave.

Sometimes things just happen that you just can't explain. Sometimes you need to remember that there just aren't answers to everything. You have to remember that sometimes it's okay to let go of little things, I understand little things can add up to big things, but you must know that sometimes you just need to choose which battle to take on. You don't have to be right about everything. It's okay to feel the way you feel, but sometimes you just need to take a breather and try to rationalize things before saying something automatically.

Not everyone needs to know everything you've been through, sometimes it's okay to sit back and not say anything. Try to stay out of drama. You will just stress and it usually is stupid. I know when you're going to bed you think of every single thing you did that day or what you did in the past, but please just try not to think too hard about things, sometimes thinking too much about something causes stress and mentally and emotionally strains you. It's okay. You don't have to remember everything about the past and you don't have to press about things, just try to let things go.

Remember, in order to let things go you must forgive and in order to forgive you have to stop hurting from the same reoccurring thoughts/feelings you've had. You don't have to remember everytime you felt hurt, it's okay to remember being happy too. It's okay to smile, to laugh, and to make new memories. You don't need to feel like you can't, you can. You can do anything you set your mind to. You're motivated and determined that's what makes you, you. Just promise me that you won't stop loving yourself, that you will keep yourself a priority. It's okay to love someone else, but you don't have to lose yourself in the process.

Don't let the past you define the future you.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
