The Truth About Law Enforcement For Me

"And maybe remind the few, if ill of us they speak, we are all that stands between the monsters and the weak."

The Truth About Law Enforcement For Me

Let me start by saying that law enforcement is a calling. It isn't something you just wake up one day and decide to do just to have a job; it is a career choice that you are called to do and know you want to make a life out of. I might not have been in law enforcement too long, and I might not be out on the roads yet, BUT I love my job. I am passionate about my job. And I am passionate about serving the community. I care about people, and when the wolf comes barking I will readily run towards the threat to protect the sheep. When I say that, notice I did not say I will run to protect a certain race. I run to protect you regardless of the color of your skin, your age, your religion, your sexuality, or any other factor that makes you different from me. I run to protect you because I am the sheep dog. I fight the evil so that you don't have to. For the rest of my life as long as I am able I will willingly run to aid the weak and those in need because that is what I love doing. Are there corrupt officers? Sure, just as well as there are corrupt doctors and corrupt construction workers. Every profession has them and we all know it. I understand that as law enforcement officers we are viewed a little more harshly when corruption shows itself because we are in a position of authority; however, 1 corrupt doctor doesn't make you stop going to get health care and 1 corrupt construction worker doesn't mean you decide to be homeless. Therefore, 1 corrupt law enforcement officer shouldn't make you decide to kill all of the others. I am disgusted at how many officers are being mercilessly murdered for the actions of others that are out of their control. I'm not in fear; I will not run, but I mourn for these officers, family members, and friends that are grieving these losses for vengeful actions taken out on the wrong ones. As a person that wants to spend the rest of their life protecting the sheep, I have no greater desire than to be one of the few that makes the difference. That shows citizens that I am here to protect all. If I should die in the process of doing so, then I will fall doing what I love with honor, and I would have it no other way. So I'll finish by saying that I am a white law enforcement officer. I bleed blue. I love my profession, and I couldn't see myself doing anything else. But I also bleed red. I am human, and I am willing to protect and die for any other human no matter what. You call, and I'll answer. No matter how late or early, no matter how small the threat may seem, I will be there, because that is the vow I have taken by choosing this profession. God bless you all, God bless this country, and God bless my brothers and sisters in blue.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
