If you have never heard of Passion, you are missing out. Passion is a conference for 18 to 25 year olds who are wanting to experience God. It takes places in the beginning of January each year. During the conference, there are sessions for big groups, smaller breakout sessions, and massive worship sessions. There will be thousands of college-aged people that are all seeking one thing: Jesus. Here are specific reasons why I am pumped to be going back.

1. It was one of my favorite experiences while I was in my youth group back home.

I was able to go during January of my senior year. I was amazed at how it felt to be surrounded by thousands of people my age worshipping Christ. Lives were changed and chains were broken and I can't wait to see what Jesus has in store for us this year.

2. Family Groups.

One of my favorite parts of the conference was being split into family groups. You get put into a group of people that you've most likely never met and it is awesome. I was able to meet people all the way from Michigan to Texas to Georgia.

3. The conference is being held at The Georgia Dome.

This huge conference being held in The Dome gives every Georgian such big heart and boost of pride. And even though I'm not originally from Georgia, I understand how important it is to the people that live here. (Seriously, these people can't stop talking about it.)

4. It gives you hope.

Many people have lost hope in our generation. People rarely see the good in us and nothing gives me more hope than knowing that there will be thousands (literally thousands) of people that are there pursuing Christ. It's such an unreal experience; goodness, I can't wait to go back.

5. The speakers that are going to be there are great spiritual leaders.

Louie and Shelley Giglio. Beth Moore. Francis Chan. John Piper. Levi Lusko. Katherine and Jay Wolf. Christine Caine.

6. The worship leaders.

Passion Band. Crowder. Chris Tomlin. Matt Redman. Hillsong United. Christie Nockles.

7. My expectations are high and I know I won't be disappointed.

I'm expecting this conference to be life changing to many people, myself included. I think God loves our expectations for Him to be high because it means that we are excited, involved, and waiting for Him to do something amazing.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
