Mom And Dad, Thank You

You guys taught us so much.

Mom And Dad, Thank You
Madison Hirsch

Dear Mom and Dad,

Thank you for everything you have done for us. You have sacrificed your own free time to do the things we wanted. You worked so hard just so we can go to college and have (most of) the things we want. You put up with our attitude and sass over the years, which I still think I got from you guys, but still loved us through it all. You guys did so much with us and gave us so many memories.

Thank you for not pressuring us into doing anything. You let us pick what we wanted to do and made sure we did it all the way through. There was no quitting in our household and for that, I could not be more thankful. You taught us to love what we do and to do what we love, and to not let anyone stop us from reaching the stars.

Thank you for the sense of humor. Friends may not completely understand why we laugh at the stupidest things, but we know it is because we grew up with a sense of humor not many people get, and for that we are thankful because it is something we have in common with you guys.

Thank you for showing us the love of Jesus through your love. Jesus lives in your hearts, and with your example, Jesus now lives in our hearts. You were the example we needed in our lives to know how to treat people the right way, and we give you the credit for making us who we are today.

Thank you for being the example of how we should love and treat our children in the future. They will know the love of Jesus because you guys showed us the love of Jesus. They will know a silly sense of humor because you taught us a silly sense of humor. They will know the saying, "Do what you love and love what you do," because you taught us that saying. They will know that quitting is not an option because we know that it instills a sense of ownership. They will know what we know because you taught us right.

Thank you, Mom and Dad, we love you!

Love,

Your amazingly wonderful kids

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
