Parents Are A Gift

"We need to appreciate our parents for all that they are, and all they have given us."

Parents Are A Gift
Matthew Brtek

I don't know about you guys, but I would never be able to live without my parents. I am almost 20 years old, and I still call my parents all of the time for advice. There are so many things I do not understand or know yet, that they are still teaching me. As we get older, we tend to think we know everything and aren't in need of our parents assistance, but I will forever need their help. They have saved me from my own foolish ideas many times, and will do so for as long as they live.

We need to appreciate our parents for all that they are, and all they have given us. I would not be the person I am today if I was not born into my wonderful family. You may have arguments with your parents, but in the end they are the only people who will forever have your back. They are your ultimate fans in life. They will intervene in tough situations you don't know how to handle. They will also make sure you almost always feel secure and happy in life.

My parents have made so many sacrifices in their lives to give me and my siblings the life they think we deserve. Every time they get mad at me, they do it out of love because they do not want me to make the same mistakes they made. They want to protect and save my heart and mind.

So, from now on I encourage you all to show your parents the love and respect they deserve. Tell them you appreciate them and say thank you for all they do. Your parents are wise beyond your years, and are filled with so much life you can learn from. Love them with all of your soul, heart, and mind. Understand you are lucky to have parents in your life. Not everyone has this luxury. Family is one of the greatest gifts God can give. Never forget that.

I love you mom and dad

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).
