As much as my parents may annoy me sometimes, they are the best people in my life and I couldn’t be more grateful for them.
In high school, I loved and appreciated them the same as any other teenager does, but leaving home has given me a maturity that made me realize how much they have done for me.
I still argue with them and we fight about little things, but I know that they only want the best for me. They have given me everything that I could ask for and more. They are my biggest supporters, and they always have been.
The many sporting events I caused them to sit through became part of our everyday routines. My dad coached soccer for years just because I played. All of the softball tournaments they sat through in the heat, all of the exhilaration from close games and pictures when we got medals.
They were there cheering me through it. Band concerts that were hours long were attended with minimal complaints. They supported me in everything that I wanted to do.
I would be lost without my parents there to help me in my lowest points. I realize now that not everyone is as lucky as I am. I am blessed to have two people in my life who support me and want to be there for me.
I got to experience everything a child could want and more because of them. They have put up with a lot because of me. Not many parents had to move their kid into and out of a dorm room twice in one school year, but they were there to do it.
During one of the toughest times in my life, I knew I always had my mom by my side to help me through it and that she was only a phone call away.
The way they give my siblings and myself unconditional love is really amazing. We may screw up, but they are still there to help us through it.
I hope that someday I am able to show them how much they mean to me and how much I appreciate everything they have done for my siblings and me.
