If you want to make a fashion statement, you need to have some background information before diving in. "Paper bag" pants, shorts, and skirts are super popular this past year, and this trend exists for a good reason. These are the 12 things you need to know about these pants that no one tells you, til now.

People literally have no clue what they are when you call them paper bag pants.

I Have No ClueGiphy

After owning a pair of these pants, I have realized that when I use the term "paper bag pants" I get more blank stares than nods in understanding. Maybe they imagine a person wearing pants that are made out of paper bags or someone a lot more wild than what they actually are.

You need to decide what pattern and color works best for you.

Striped PantsGiphy

These pants are so versatile because of the amount of cuts, colors, and patterns. My personal preference is the classic black and white vertical striped pants. You'll thank me later.

It takes you 20 minutes to figure out how to tie them.

Mission Accomplished Giphy

Once you have found the paper bag styled of clothes you want, the next challenge is trying to tie the fabric that either makes a knot or bow. After many attempts and maybe an extra pair of hands, you can walk out the door feeling like you saved the world one pair of paper bag pants at a time.

They are surprisingly comfortable.

Comfortable PantsGiphy

I am all about comfort, and when you find the right pair of these you'll be living in the life of comfort while also looking like a model. You get the best of both worlds.

They elongate your legs.

Long LegsGiphy

If you have short legs like me or already have long legs, these pants can really make you look like you have model length limbs. Don't be surprised if you are asked to walk on a runway while wearing them.

You are actually a walking gift.

GiftGiphy

Once you have finally conquered the tie on your pants, you are a walking and talking present wrapped with a bow. Feel free to call yourself a gift to mankind, we all know it when you rock this outfit.

You look automatically fancier in this style.

I'm So FancyGiphy

You can pair them with a cute blouse or a plain t-shirt, and either way you look like a million bucks. These pants can step up your fashion game to the next level every #ootd you post.

You feel like you just walked out of a Pinterest board.

Strutting Giphy

If you are a big fan of Pinterest, then you know that these style of pants are HUGE on this site. Rocking them can make you feel like you deserve to be repinned, and that your style is worthy to be shared across the globe.

They have big pockets.

PocketsGiphy

Pockets are a big deal, nothing complicated about that. These types of pants have big pockets to store all of your favorite things and then some. Fashion and functionally can really exist.

The struggle of going to the bathroom.

The Struggle Is RealGiphy

The struggle doesn't happen before or after with these pants, its because you have to retie them. You go all day with a cute bow on your pants, and you can never seem to get them to look the same afterwards.

You'll receive compliments by people of all ages, shapes, and sizes.

Thank YouGiphy

This style attracts all walks of life because of all that they can offer. In all seriousness, you will receive compliments about them. People always seem weary of them, but make sure to them to at least try them on and see how paper bag pants can change their world.

Get them, now.

Go Get ThemGiphy

No matter what your budget is, you can find a pair that works for you. These are comfortable and closet amplifiers all wrapped up in a pretty bow. Don't walk, run to the nearest store to get a pair for you.

These might be pants, but they are not just pants. They are so much more. They are confidence boosting, carry your whole life in a pocket, and body lengthening pants. You need to know these 12 things, but you also need to own a pair of these.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way.
