No matter what stance you have concerning deforestation, there is a long journey ahead in stopping the appetite for palm oil. Palm oil is an incredible plant product that is immensely digested by American households everywhere and in fact globally for years. Unbeknownst to many, it has created a lot of controversy. As you may imagine, every consumer finds it hard to cut or ween from palm oil. Nevertheless, there are school children that eat products such as Cheetos or Hershey’s which include palm oil.

Because palm oil is the standard ingredient nowadays, there are still critics that believe that ceasing to consume palm oil will not affect the decision for chopping down of millions and millions of forest land. Many people need to decide for themselves if they want to fight against deforestation contributed by the use of palm oil. Fortunately, there are ways to ween from palm oil altogether. It takes a lot of knowledge and the help of organizations to follow the cease the consumption of palm oil in a diet. Like veganism and vegetarianism, you can feel it in your soul. The option will be to change partially or wholly. In light to what people will be facing, controlling your diet is always manageable.

Until that wonderful day when people help in the fight of stopping deforestation, palm oil will remain in everyone’s life. Fortunately, there are a few simple things to do to make sure you are buying and using the appropriate products while unintentionally contributing to deforestation and other terrible unethical crimes.

  • Ween away from palm oil slowly

Knowing more about how your voice matters and understanding the palm oil effects not only in your life, but the lives of others will make you resourceful. You can help others to learn and understand and follow the rules to which you can identify the brands sources that include sustainable palm oil.

Palm oil shows up in everything from your shampoo, to make-up, and laundry detergent, so cutting it out of your daily routine can be worthwhile. You shouldn’t worry about not buying these products but it is an easy task. It also makes you have less of a guilty conscious. By focusing on green companies and giving them a high score for their best work which is fighting against the use of palm oil in our daily routine will always be a plus.

Try Alternatives

If it gets a little tricky in weening away from palm oil, try a substitute. Find common household items or food that replaces palm oil like corn oil or olive oil when cooking or eating great food that you can read on a label that will show that the ingredients are free of palm oil. Always select some animal and planet friendly alternatives to palm oil.

Spread the Message

As soon as you ween off palm oil altogether or even partially, share your knowledge with others whether in person or online. Tell people why it is so important in your life and why it will be important in theirs. Start a conversation.
