Pakistan Zindabad Or Jai Hind?

Why not both?

If you know anything about rivalries, the biggest is the India-Pakistan rivalry.

The India-Pakistan cricket rivalry is a big one. I don't think I have ever seen such heated matches; even people that could not care less about sports get into cricket arguments. As George Bernard Shaw once said, "Cricket is a game played by 11 fools and watched by 11,000 fools.”

I have grown up in a house where when the two teams play against one another it is a win-win for us. We never had any animosity for the opposing team because both countries are home. That is extremely rare. My mom is from India and my dad is from Pakistan, so I have the best of both worlds. There are beautiful things about both, things that make me proud to say that I am associated with that country. There are also terrible things about both, things that upset me and make me angry with the choices of the people of the country.

I want to focus on the positives and stay optimistic for the future of both. Personally, I don't believe the split of Hindustan should have ever happened in 1947. We have had three major wars and countless conflicts but all over what? Religion? Land?

But again, on the positive side, what are some things that I love about both? Other than cricket?

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general.
