For many fraternities and sororities, big little is right around the corner- and by around the corner, I mean it's this week and you haven't started a single craft for your little. If you are like me and have no artistic ability this can be an intimidating week. Don't worry though because I am here to teach you how to make the perfect canvas for your little.
1. Pick out a design
Again, if you are like me and not creative at all, Pinterest is going to be your best friend. I'll go on Pinterest and search different designs or canvases. I usually search my fraternity and so many designs show up; it just makes life a whole lot easier.
2. Trace your design with white paper
Once you've picked out your design, blow it up on your computer screen. Turn up the brightness on your monitor, place your paper over the screen and trace the design (trace lightly with a pencil, you don't ruin your computer screen.) You could also print out your design but I personally like to trace it so I get more comfortable with drawing.
3. White tissue paper
Yes, you did just read tissue paper, its cheaper than carbon paper and it does the same thing. Take your tissue paper and trace over the white paper with your design on it with a pencil.
4. Tape down your tissue paper on your canvas and trace with a sharpie
I suggest taping down the tissue paper to your canvas to ensure the paper does not move while you're tracing. I always use a sharpie or a paint pen but make sure to use a marker that will bleed through the tissue paper onto your canvas.
5. Final Touches
After you traced over the tissue paper with the sharpie, there should be a faint layout of your design. You can go back over the design with your sharpie again or paint until you are happy with how your canvas looks.
There you have it- a simple and easy way to create the perfect canvas for your little, because if I can do this, anyone can. Trust me.
