Growing Up With Brothers

The pains and gains of having brothers.

Growing Up With Brothers

I was blessed, or should I say cursed, to be the middle child stuck in between two brothers. We are all close in age, my older brother only being a year older and my little brother being two years younger. Since we are so close we have spent a lot of time, maybe too much time together over the years which can be very irritating at time. So if you are like me and grew up with brothers you will understand the struggle.

1. Leftovers

No matter where you hide it or how many sticky notes you put on your box it is never safe.

2. Fighting

Over the years you learn to put up a fight. Cuts and bruises are no biggie to you because they're more than likely from your brothers.

3. Clothing

For some reason guys sweatshirts and sweatpants are 100 times more comfy than girls, so you raid their closets.

4. Mistaken for Dating

If your brothers are close to you in age sometimes people mistake you two being being a couple and you have to hold yourself back from puking.

5. Chores

Oh, does that require manual labor? I'll let my brothers do that.

6. Your Brother's Hot Friends

Don't you hate it when you are laying on your couch wearing no bra or make up and your brother brings his friends over with no warning.

7. TV

Your brothers ALWAYS control the TV, especially when there's a game on. So you just sit there pretending you know everything about football because you're too afraid to ask a question.

8. Tough Skin

Growing up you were probably the butt of many jokes, especially if you had more than one brother. So over the years you've learned to take it and even dish out jokes yourself.

9. Full Time Bodyguard

Whether you're having a night out with friends or having trouble with your boyfriend, your brothers always are there for you when something goes wrong.

10. Always Got Each Others Backs

You guys have been through a lot together. Whether it was keeping a secret from your parents or helping each other be sneaky you guys are always there for each other in the end no matter what. Sure, I might've grown up watching too much ESPN but I would trade it for anything else. Having brothers has taught me many valuable lessons and how to have a good time. They might get on my nerves a lot, but I will always love them.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
