As a local resident in Georgia, I can definitely state how unpredictable the weather is here. I've lived here my entire life, and I never can determine when it will rain or snow each day. It's always a new mystery for me and my friends. Like me and my friends, there are more people living in Georgia who deal with these seven painful struggles while living in Georgia.
1. You never know what type of clothes to wear: summer, spring, fall or winter.
I can never tell what to wear each day. Shorts? Jeans? Leggings? Even if it is during the summer, I still never know. You're supposed to assume you'll wear shorts, but in Georgia, you never know.
2. You have to keep a fan in your room at all times.
Sometimes it's too hot in your room, no matter how cold the temperature claims to be before you sleep. Who knows? It might get warm over the night.
3. You always wear socks to bed before sleeping.
We always have to keep our feet nice and toasty, even during the summer. Either way, no harm because we'll just kick the socks off our feet overnight.
4. You can never leave the house without your pollen allergy medication.
No one wants to get stuck in the emergency room just because he or she was not aware that the pollen count increased throughout the day. I know I wouldn't.
5. You check the weather app on a daily basis to determine what to wear.
It's a must. You can never trust Georgia weather. It's almost impossible to trust Georgia weather. You need to know what's the weather like that day. Always.
6. You have to make sure you have your umbrella in your bag 24/7.
You never know when it'll rain. Even if the weather app says its sunny and it is sunny outside, you still need your umbrella. Just in case.
7. You lose a bunch of school days because Georgia panics over one inch of snow.
The school board always takes a while just to decide whether or not to cancel school. Then once school is cancelled, you have to make up all of those days.
8. You have at least two weather apps in case one is wrong.
Every single app says something different. Maybe it's a small difference or a big one. but you can never trust just one weather app.
9. You need to keep a thick coat with you in the mornings to take off in the hot afternoon.
It's cold in the mornings but hot in the afternoons. Never really made sense to me in the past 17 years that I've lived in Georgia, which is my entire lifetime.
10. You always wax or shave whenever there is free time just in case.
Have to make sure to be shorts-ready. I'll never know when I have the time to shave or wax when I suddenly find out that the day requires shorts.
11. You never know what shoes to wear: your boots, sneakers, flip flops or rain boots.
Is it going to be cold today? Is it a regular day? Is it a hot day? Is it a rainy day? What is it? I never know.
12. You have to cancel plans with friends because the sunny weather became rainy.
Goodbye, fun plans. We're going to have to cancel our plans for that photoshoot today because no one wants to take pictures in the humid and rainy weather.
13. You always have one ruined pair of shoes from that one day of running in the rain when you thought it was going to be sunny.
The Georgia weather truly tricks people. You're almost positive that it's a sunny day, but then, the rainy weather hits the state. Then your shoes get ruined when you're running to your car in shoes that are definitely not rain-weather appropriate.
