casual conversations occur
they all stop
when you walk in the room

the first thing looked at
your beauty

not your physical appearance
but the aroma that you bring to the room

your attitude is one of fearlessness and grace
others stop and admire it

your words powerfully intimidate
both men and women

your spirit radiates off of you
you are looked upon as a leader

you are strong
& you know it

you are the prettiest one in the room
all know
& so do you

you run
when others walk

you love boldly
others love softly
you persevere
others falter

you walk to the corner of the room
& pick me up

you chose me
how I'm not worthy

you hug me
how loved am I

your hands are soft and your breath is warm
chills run up and down me

you speak
i can't

others stop and admire
wanting to experience
all that they've seen

all I want to do is utter the words
thank you

thank you for saving me
thank you for picking me

you are my everything
everything I don't want to forget

i love you
you love me more

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
